PHILOSOPHY

Fundraising is the engine that powers many nonprofits. But successfully realising your dreams and goals through fundraising requires the right mindset. Fundraising is a means to an end, and it can be much more than just getting (financial) support. It is finding and connecting with the right people and organisations. Listening to them, understanding what drives them, and then connecting all of that to your needs and dreams in a way that works for you, the partner/donor, and your beneficiaries.

The concept of relationship fundraising is central to how I work. That´s not just because it's the most widely accepted best practice in fundraising. It's because relationship fundraising delivers the best results for you. Especially when combined with the latest international insights, including the valuable work of the UK Commission on the Donor Experience.

Relationship fundraising means that everything we do is partner/donor-centred. The rationale: provide the people and organisations that support your work with the best possible experience, and they will provide you with more and better support for a longer period of time. A small initial gift can evolve to a transformative legacy gift or a multi-annual, win-win corporate partnership.

If you are looking for fast cash without any concern for your partners, then we are not a good match. Likewise, I am not the right choice if you do not want to be transparent and accountable about the use of the resources entrusted to your organisation.

HOW I WORK

Everything starts by listening to your story. What are your dreams, motivations, challenges and concerns? What is it that you really want to achieve? Understanding this allows me to propose tailored services that can deliver solutions.

I work for nonprofit organisations around the world. The fundraising & donor management road map (pdf) visualises the road from your vision/mission to achieving (fundraising) goals.

Every proposal is free of charge and includes clear deliverables / KPIs and a transparent fee structure. I do not work on commission for ethical reasons and because it is often not in your best interest. My fee is either a fixed fee or an hourly rate. This depends on the nature of the assignment. The standard hourly fee is 110 euro for short-term assignments (1,5 hrs+). Weekly/monthly assignments are possible at reduced rates. This excludes 21% VAT and expenses, like database fees or travel costs, which require your prior written consent. 

 

The work starts when you give the green light. I usually work remotely, but I can also work in-house. It all depends on the assignment, your needs and preferences.
